Students' Attitudes towards Internet Memes in Writing Descriptive Text

The aim of this research is to investigate students’ attitudes in writing descriptive text using Internet memes as a medium and the reasons leading particular attitude that occurred. This qualitative was conducted purposive sampling class consists 13 fourth semester students English Language Education study program at Universitas Tanjungpura Essay Writing course. There are two types data collected research; they primary secondary data. were obtained from semantic differential questionnaire semi-structured interview, which five students, whereas acquired scores task. findings reported have positive towards task memes. Factors influenced their sense enjoyment casual feeling task, freedom relatedness chosen memes, visual aid pictures helps illustrate better description them understand how describe words. From result, it clear helpful boost text. It suggested by fun media, such teachers can put comfortable learning atmosphere, so absorb other important materials better.
